El Lobo was slow to begin. Arnie's Girl and Darlyn Chris collided approaching the first turn. Cosmic Snow, Arnie's Girl and Darlyn Chris collided on the first turn checking Talon Miss and severely checking Cosmic Snow. Talon Miss checked off the heels of Arnie's Girl on the first turn. El Lobo clipped the heels of Arnie's Girl on the first turn. El Lobo clipped the heels of Arnie's Girl approaching the home turn. Darlyn Chris stumbled soon after the start approaching the home turn and lost ground.
Darlyn Chris was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left fore spike wound, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.
