Geoffrey's Alone was slow to begin. I'm A Meade was very slow out (3 lengths). Lady Nahas and Visual Basic collided soon after the start. Velocity Sofia and Surfing Bear collided approaching the first turn checking Velocity Sofia which stumbled. Rebel Lane, Visual Basic and Lady Nahas collided approaching the first turn checking Visual Basic and severely checking Lady Nahas which stumbled. Velocity Sofia checked off the heels of Surfing Bear approaching the second turn. Surfing Bear and I'm A Meade collided approaching the second turn checking both greyhounds. Geoffrey's Alone and Rebel Lane collided on the second turn checking Rebel Lane. Surfing Bear, I'm A Meade and Velocity Sofia collided on the second turn checking Velocity Sofia and severely checking Surfing Bear. Lady Nahas was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right triangle injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Samples were taken from Leaf Cutter winner of the event. Stewards spoke to Mr.G.Barnsley handler of Surfing Bear and issued a warning for arriving late at the kennels to prepare his greyhound for this event.
