Steward's Report
Mr K. Chivell, trainer of Derail redeclared a new weight of 31.9kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Derail last raced at 30.6kg.
Why Not Logan was slow to begin. Mr Wingnut and Perpetrator collided soon after the start, checking both greyhounds. Miss Barbados and I'm No Nag collided approaching the first turn, severely checking Miss Barbados, Mr Wingnut and causing Miss Barbados and Mr Wingnut to tail off. I'm No Nag and Heath Wot collided on the first turn, checking I'm No Nag, Heath Wot and Harrier Bale. Derail raced wide approaching the home turn and lost ground as a result. I'm No Nag and Harrier Bale collided entering the home straight, checking I'm No Nag.
Mr Wingnut was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Miss Barbados was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained spike wounds to both front legs, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Derail was vetted and after being re-vetted following event 8, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right blade muscle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
