Alpha Theseus, Allen Membo, Santa's Hope and Mepunga Ted were slow to begin. Allen Membo checked off Lyley Lass approaching the first turn, checking Santa's Hope. Idaho Bale and Alpha Theseus collided approaching the first turn, checking Idaho Bale. Santa's Hope checked off Allen Membo approaching the first turn. Allen Portland and Lyley Lass collided on the first turn. Alpha Theseus and Allen Membo collided on the first turn. Alpha Theseus galloped on Lyley Lass approaching the second turn, checking Allen Membo and severely checking Alpha Theseus and Lyley Lass.
