Steward's Report
Diamond Express, Milburn Gold and Marmasette were slow to begin. Trevs Pride, Good Golly Polly, Mr. Stealer and Vivid Intent collided on the first turn checking Good Golly Polly, Milburn Gold, Light Feathers and Marmasette and severely checking Vivid Intent. Diamond Express and Mr. Stealer collided on the second turn. Good Golly Polly and Milburn Gold collided approaching the home turn checking Good Golly Polly. Light Feathers veered out and marred the running of Good Golly Polly on the home turn severely checking both greyhounds which tailed off as a result. Diamond Express and Marmasette collided in the home straight.
Stewards spoke to Ms. K. Smith, the handler of the greyhound Light Feathers regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Light Feathers with marring. Ms. Smith pleaded guilty to the charge, Light Feathers was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Good Golly Polly was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Light Feathers was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained soreness in the right triangle. A stand down period of 5 days was imposed.
