Mint Burst and Fairy Tiger were slow to begin. Loyal Miss and Shazmal collided approaching the first turn checking Shazmal. Shazmal and Virtue collided on the first turn checking Shazmal. Plea For Beer and Loyal Miss collided on the first turn checking Mint Burst, Shazmal and Virtue and severely checking Plea For Beer and Loyal Miss; Virtue raced wide as a result. Cosmic Shiraz cramped over the concluding stages of the event.
Shazmal was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained split webbing to its left hind foot. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
