Jolly Beggarman and Oh Lele Simon were slow to begin. Wino Waves and Yon Bonnie Brae collided soon after the start. Dubai Diamond brushed the running rail soon after the start. Dubai Diamond and Wino Waves collided approaching the first turn checking Wino Waves; Wino Waves contacted the running rail as a result. Yon Bonnie Brae checked off Oh Lele Simon on the first turn. Gandolf Bale and Perry White collided several times from the first turn to the second turn. Jolly Beggarman and Wino Waves collided on the second turn. Dubai Diamond checked off Yon Bonnie Brae in the back straight. Perry White eased approaching the third turn causing Gandolf Bale to fall.
Gandolf Bale was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its left wrist and minor grazing. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Perry White was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 3, it was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Bartlett, the trainer of the greyhound Perry White regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the third turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Perry White with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Bartlett pleaded Not Guilty to the charge. Perry White was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR (A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
