A pre race sample was taken from Carmyle.
Yaala and Ollie Brae were quick to begin. My Socks Rocks and Star Deli were slow to begin. Cathy's Tiger checked off Nearly Lilly soon after the start. Cathy's Tiger and Star Deli collided approaching the first turn, checking Cathy's Tiger. Why Not Dawn and Nearly Lilly raced wide approaching the home turn.Cathy's Tiger raced wide entering the home straight. Yaala, Ollie Brae and Carmyle collided in the home straight. Yaala and Ollie Brae collided approaching the winning post.
Yaala was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right tricep and both stifle muscles, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Ms. L Courts after she failed to produce her registration certificate when requested by stewards in the catching pen area prior to race one. Stewards charged Ms. Courts with a breach of LR 16.2. Ms. Courts pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined the sum of $50.
