A pre-race sample was taken from Why Not Barrel upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
Demon Bale and Jesaulenko were quick to begin. Dewana Result, Why Not Barrel and Dr. Bodacious were slow to begin. Dash Of Rose and Greysynd Emma collided on the first turn checking Dr. Bodacious which raced wide. Dash Of Rose and Greysynd Emma collided approaching the second turn. Jesaulenko crossed to the outside in the back straight. Dewana Result was checked off Greysynd Emma approaching the third turn. Dash Of Rose and Why Not Barrel collided on the home turn.
