In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed ‘Heat Affected’. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 30.5 degrees and the kennel temperature was 17.9 degrees. Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue, as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.

A post–race urine sample was taken from Have A Crack – the winner of the event.

Nicky Boo Boo – Stewards were satisfied with the boxing of the greyhound and removed the boxed first endorsement for future events, in accordance with GAR 106.

Boggy Pub underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Ms. Briana Robertson-Leech regarding Boggy Pub’s racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Boggy Pub was charged with marring. Ms. Robertson-Leech pleaded guilty to the charge. Boggy Pub was suspended for 28 days (1st offence) at Bendigo and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Pursuant to the GRV Hot Weather Policy, Stewards dispensed with two requirements prior to Race 2, meaning greyhounds were no longer required to remain on course for the specified time, and that the parading of greyhounds was to occur, as the outside temperature had decreased to a reasonable level.

Shake The Dust was slow to begin.

Poppy Rick (severely checked and contacted the running rail in the back straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left carpal sprain and a left back muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

A post–race urine sample was taken from Financial News – the winner of the event. 

An out of competition urine sample was taken from Rapidfire Denzel on 13/01/2025 pursuant to GAR 139. 

Kaluna Chaos and Elena's Jebrynah were quick to begin. Atomic Secret, Nickleby Action and Bravado were slow to begin.

A post–race urine sample was taken from Kaluna Chaos – the winner of the event. 

Aston Warrior (trainer's request) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a minor spike wound on the right hind paw, no stand down period was imposed.

Riendo was quick to begin. Summer Kobie and Tattooed were slow to begin.

Kraken Whisky and Higher Force were slow to begin.

Kraken Whisky and Higher Force raced wide in the home straight.

Ripping It Up and Whatever Junior were quick to begin. Dark Before Dawn was slow to begin.

Whatever Junior underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr. Adam Helleren regarding Whatever Junior’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Whatever Junior was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Helleren pleaded guilty to the charge. Whatever Junior was suspended for 28 days (1st offence) at Bendigo and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted. Stewards also issued a warning against the greyhound for pulling up prior to the return gate and failing to enter the catching pen.

Royal Sleeper underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left monkey injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms. Kayla Cottrell regarding the racing manners of Royal Sleeper soon after the start and on the turn out of the back straight. After hearing submissions from Ms. Cottrell, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, Stewards took no further action.

Dark Before Dawn (trainer's request) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left monkey injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre–race urine sample was taken from Rear Vision.

Luna's Girl and Nancy Devere were quick to begin.

Rear Vision (checked on the turn out of the back straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. 

Humble Ethics and Canya All Up were quick to begin. Delatite Beast was slow to begin.

Lightning Al (lost ground from turning into the home straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a slow recovery. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr Aaron Campbell regarding the performance of Lightning Al in the event. Mr Campbell and the Stewards were of the opinion that the greyhound cramped. Acting in accordance with GAR 130, Lightning Al was ordered to undertake a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 130, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

A urine sample was taken from Infra Rock upon arrival at the course.

Misty Blue was slow to begin.

An out of competition urine sample was taken from Buck Shines on 14/01/2025 pursuant to GAR 139. 

Cooper Summer was quick to begin.
