Ninety Five was quick to begin. Lee I Am and Dalshabae went up with the lids at box rise and were slow to begin. Southwood Jack checked off Blossom Noir soon after the start. Lee I Am checked off Arvo's Steva soon after the start. Lee I Am, Southwood Jack and Amaroo Sand Man collided approaching the first turn checking Lee I Am and Southwood Jack. Dalshabae and Zimmerman collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn checking Zimmerman. Amaroo Sand Man crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Arvo's Steva. Lee I Am and Southwood Jack collided on the first turn checking Lee I Am. Lee I Am galloped on the heels Arvo's Steva approaching the second turn checking Lee I Am and severely checking Arvo's Steva. Lee I Am and Blossom Noir collided entering the home straight checking Blossom Noir. Southwood Jack marred the running of Blossom Noir in the home straight checking both greyhounds.
Lee I Am was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Crawley, trainer of the greyhound Southwood Jack regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Southwood Jack with marring. Mr. P. Crawley pleaded guilty to the charge. Southwood Jack was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown Park and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
