Steward's Report
Payback was slow to begin.
Stewards spoke to Ms. Lisa Hellmuth regarding the racing manners of Raya Star on the home turn. After hearing submissions from Ms. Hellmuth, viewing the available race footage, and having their own observations, Stewards took no further action.
Pigwidgeon underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury reported. Mrs. Lisa Cockerell declined the opportunity to have the greyhound re-examined. Stewards spoke to representative Mrs. Cockerell regarding Pigwidgeon's racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Pigwidgeon was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mrs. Cockerell pleaded guilty to the charge. Pigwidgeon was suspended for 28 days (1st offence) at Sandown Park and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
