Flying Shuttle and Lansley Blue were slow out. Hotshow Jackson and Crusader Luke collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn with Lansley Blue. Moyne Prince and Hotshow Jackson collided on the first turn. Kipketer, Northop, Crusader Luke, Flying Shuttle and Lansley Blue collided on the first turn checking Northop, Crusader Luke and Lansley Blue. Northop checked off the heels of Flying Shuttle on the third turn. Hotshow Jackson raced wide on the home turn.
