Steward's Report
Honest Thief was quick to begin. Small Demeanour, King Pop and Charing Cross were slow to begin.
A post-race sample was taken from Juice - the winner of the event.
Charing Cross - eased and turned its head inwards on the home turn. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination with no apparent injury reported. Stewards spoke to trainer Darren Fisher regarding Charing Cross' racing manners on the turn into the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Charing Cross was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Fisher pleaded guilty to the charge. Charing Cross was suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
