Roethlisberger was slow to begin. Starc clipped the heels of Flying Twist on the first turn and stumbled as a result, checking Love Affair and Roethlisberger. Zipping Rory and Roethlisberger collided on the first turn and again on the second turn. Flying Twist and Big Kat collided on the second turn. Flying Twist and Explosive Angel collided approaching the home turn, checking Explosive Angel. Explosive Angel tired over the concluding stages and was vetted following the event.

Zipping Rory was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained soreness to the right calf muscle, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Mechatronic, Quarrel Bale and Papa Hook were slow to begin. Mechatronic, Quarrel Bale and Papa Hook collided approaching the first turn. Polly Bale checked off Quantum Bale approaching the first turn, checking Mechatronic, Quarrel Bale and Papa Hook. Polly Bale race wide on the first turn, checking Quarrel Bale and Papa Hook. 

Allen Icarus and Udon Bale collided soon after the start. Allen Icarus and White Walker collided soon after the start. White Walker, Allen Icarus and Udon Bale collided approaching the first turn. Punch It and Lektra Outlaw collided on the first turn. White Walker, Allen Icarus and Udon Bale collided on the first turn, checking Udon Bale. Thunderlips and Punch It collided on the first turn and again on the second turn. White Walker checked off Allen Icarus on the second turn. 

Harden Bale, Hercules Bale and Se's High Above were slow to begin. Rashad Reason and Hercules Bale collided soon after the start, checking Hercules Bale. Prior to giving All Clear, Stewards signalled "Hold All Tickets" after noting that some fireworks had been ignited in the local area after the greyhounds had been placed in the boxes. Based on their own observations and replay footage, Stewards were satisfied that no greyhounds had been affected and subsequently signalled All Clear.
