Suedon Belle and Final Deception were slow to begin.  Little Smokey was very slow to begin (10 lengths) and took no competitive part in the event.  Final Deception galloped on Suedon Belle on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Shirdale Prince and Alisha Jewel collided approaching the home turn checking Shirdale Prince.  Alisha Jewel was checked off Held Hostage in the home straight.

Little Smokey was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right chest muscle and left monkey muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.  

Stewards spoke to Mr. Joseph Sultana the trainer of the greyhound Little Smokey.  Stewards deemed the performance of Little Smokey unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Little Smokey must perform a satisfactory trial all tracks before any future nomination will be accepted.

Mr. Stephen Reed, trainer of Zelemar Zonk re-declared a new weight of 26.5kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Zelemar Zonk last raced at 28.2kg.

Stewards spoke to Mr Donald Rhodes the trainer of Jungle Jane and reminded him of his responsibilities regarding his failure to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve the greyhound for racing (GAR 46).

Jungle Jane was quick to begin.  Dignity Diamond, Runnin'On Gas and Tricky Mover were slow to begin.  Zelemar Zonk was checked off Our Miss Nitro on the first turn. Dignity Diamond was checked off Zelemar Zonk on the first turn checking Runnin'On Gas and Tricky Mover, both greyhounds raced wide as a result.  Ugo Flash eased entering the home straight and collided with Our Miss Nitro.  Oh So Serious and Jungle Jane collided in the home straight.  Ugo Flash, Our Miss Nitro and Zelemar Zonk collided approaching the winning post.

Runnin'On Gas was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Stewards spoke to Mr. Brian Sonneman the trainer of the greyhound Ugo Flash regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight.  Ugo Flash was vetted and after being re-vetted following event 6, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left and right chest muscle and right elbow, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1) the Stewards charged Ugo Flash with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment by reason of injury.  Mr. Sonneman pleaded guilty to the charge, Ugo Flash was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Unbound was quick to begin.  Kofi Kaylan, White Stinger, Swagzilla, Tekki Tremor, Crawf's Bread, Saahd and Whatta Joke collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn checking Swagzilla, Whatta Joke, Saahd, Crawf's Bread and White Stinger.  Kofi Kaylan was checked off Tekki Tremor approaching the home turn.  White Stinger and Crawf's Bread collided approaching the home turn.  Saahd raced wide approaching the home turn and on the home turn.  Kofi Kaylan raced wide in the home straight.

Ennis Bale was a late scratching at 8.32am due to illness.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Voight was slow to begin.  Choclotto, Vapour Storm and Loves it collided approaching the first turn.  Choclotto and Vapour Storm collided on the first turn.

Cruiser's Sol, Kraken Concord and Lady Deedee collided soon after the start.  Cheeky Hand and Benzo Bale collided soon after the start.  Benzo Bale galloped on Starzar Diamonds approaching the first turn checking Starzar Diamonds.  Benzo Bale, Cruiser's Sol and Marciarno Miss collided approaching the first turn.  Kraken Concord was checked off Marciarno Miss on the first turn.

Starzar Diamonds was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a wound to the right hock, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Loving Angels and We'llClap That were slow to begin.  Mamba and Loving Angels collided approaching the first turn.  Mamba galloped on Delta Daisy on the first turn checking Delta Daisy and Loving Angels.  Windy Hill was checked off Coolan Boy on the first turn.  Windy Hill was checked off We'll Clap That approaching the home turn.  Windy Hill and Ousti collided on the home turn.  Delta Daisy and Loving Angels collided on the home turn.  Windy Hill and Loving Angels collided entering the home straight.

Windy Hill was vetted and after being re-vetted following event 9, it was reported that the greyhound sustained a cut to the left front foot and post race exhaustion, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Cosmic Daicos and Ripplebrook Al were slow to begin.  Black Odin was checked off Gifted Man soon after the start.  Gifted Man and Vee For Vegas collided approaching the first turn checking Vee For Vegas.  Cosmic Daicos and Take Them On collided approaching the first turn.  Tekki China crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Leah Entity. Ripplebrook Al galloped on Black Odin approaching the home turn checking Black Odin.  Vee For Vegas was held up for a clear run approaching the home turn.  Black Odin galloped on Vee For Vegas in the home straight.

Fireman Johnny and To The Galo's were slow to begin.  Photon Flyer and Night Phantom collided soon after the start.  Chubba Chops and Zatmine collided approaching the first turn.  Minstrel Prince, Chubba Chops and Fireman Johnny collided on the first turn checking Fireman Johnny and severely checking Chubba Chops.  Remo Wind was checked off Night Phantom approaching the home turn.  Minstrel Prince was checked off Night Phantom entering the home straight.  Night Phantom, Remo Wind and Minstrel Prince collided in the home straight checking Minstrel Prince.

Johnny Mobster was checked off Jet Mikado soon after the start.  Yarra Gun and Don't Crumble collided approaching the first turn.  Jet Mikado, Yarra Gun, Don't Crumble and Danyo's Tom collided on the first turn checking Danyo's Tom, Yarra Gun and Don't Crumble.  Johnny Mobster was checked off Yarra Gun on the first turn checking Black Arora.  Danyo's Tom was checked off Jet Mikado on the home turn.  Black Arora was checked off Don't Crumble entering the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr. Neil Ryan the trainer of Danyo's Tom regarding the greyhounds performance in this event.  Mr. Ryan stated that he was disappointed with the performance of Danyo's Tom and could offer no further explanation.  Mr. Ryan advised Stewards that it was his intention to have the greyhound checked by his regular vet in the oncoming days.  Stewards advised Mr. Ryan that he must notify Greyhound Racing Victoria Stewards of any irregularities that may have affected the greyhounds performance pursuant to GAR 75(2).

Cool Maxine trialled over the 400 metres from box 1, weight 26.6kg, the greyhound was placed second in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 23.75 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of a neck.  Cool Maxine was cleared.

Onyx Black trialled over the 400 metres from box 8, weight 32.6kg, the greyhound was placed fourth in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 23.75 secs, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 4 1/4 lengths.  Onyx Black was cleared.
