Steward's Report
Big Cone Tone – Late scratching at 8:19am by Order of Stewards.
A pre-race sample was taken from Lawless.
Mist Fred (checked and lost ground on the first turn), underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re–examined following race 11. Mist Fred was found to have a hamstring injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Darren Burkett, trainer, regarding the racing manners of Mist Fred on the first turn. After hearing submissions from Mr Darren Burkett, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, the Stewards issued a warning to connections.
A post–race sample was taken from Blue Cabang – the winner of the event.
