Steward's Report
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed ‘Heat Affected’. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 19.1 degrees and the kennel temperature was 17.4 degrees. Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue, as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.
Pursuant to the GRV Hot Weather Policy, Stewards dispensed with two requirements prior to race one, meaning greyhounds were no longer required to remain on course for the specified time, and that the parading of greyhounds was to occur, as the outside temperature had decreased to a reasonable level.
Speakeasy – Late scratching at 11:12am when Mr Ian Garland reported the greyhound to have diarrhoea (GAR 76). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w) before any future nominations will be accepted.
Teddy Devil – New declared weight of 29.9kg, last raced at 31.1kg.
Bullseye Bob and Nick Devere were slow to begin.
Teddy Devil (lost ground on the first turn and tailed off) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re–examined following Race 8. Teddy Devil was found to have injuries to the left back muscle, left shoulder, left track leg and both wrists. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
