Steward's Report
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed ‘Heat Affected’. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 31.8 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18.0 degrees. Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue, as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.
Got Cash – Late scratching at 5:09pm on the advice of the On–Track Veterinarian (GAR 92) due to the greyhound having dehydration. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Shaggy Boy was slow to begin.
Kraken Loop (turned it's head to the outside in the back straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left triangle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr. Kevin Eyles regarding Kraken Loop’s racing manners in the back straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Kraken Loop was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Eyles pleaded guilty to the charge. Kraken Loop must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
