In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed ‘Heat Affected’. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 32.7 degrees and the kennel temperature was 17.5 degrees. Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue, as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.

Pursuant to the GRV Hot Weather Policy, Stewards dispensed with two requirements prior to Race 1, meaning greyhounds were no longer required to remain on course for the specified time, and that the parading of greyhounds was to occur, as the outside temperature had decreased to a reasonable level.

Monty Rhode (lost ground over the concluding stages) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hock sprain and a left back muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Crymelon Ivy.

Crymelon Ivy was a late scratching at the boxes at 7:33pm on the advice of the On–Track Veterinarian (GAR 92) due to a left wrist sprain injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

The start was delayed by approximately six minutes to allow for the On-Track Veterinarian to examine Crymelon Ivy.

Quinnley Bale and Zipping Gian were quick to begin. Catch My Drift was slow to begin.

Quinnley Bale (faltered and lost ground on the home turn) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the right triangle muscle and left back muscle. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Oriental Ophelia was quick to begin.

Green Flash raced wide turning into the home straight.

Lucy Jane (turned head outwards in the home straight) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following Race 6. Found to have a right back muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. Gary Hunt regarding Lucy Jane’s racing manners. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Lucy Jane was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Hunt pleaded guilty to the charge. Lucy Jane must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Idyllic Luther (checked turning off the back straight) underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.

Wrong Bias was quick to begin. Disguise and Yum Cha Jack were slow to begin.

Hidden Stones raced wide turning into the home straight.

Yum Cha Jack (galloped on turning out of the back straight and continued to lose ground over the remainder of the event) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have right shin soreness and injuries to the left and right back muscles. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

An out of competition sample was taken from Boomburst on 05 March 2024, pursuant to GAR 139.
