In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 23.6 degrees and the kennel temperature were 17.4 degrees. The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.

During kennelling Stewards conducted a carpark check on all trainers’ vehicles engaged in today’s meeting. Stewards were satisfied that all transport had adhered to the GRV Hot Weather Policy and the GRV Transportation of Greyhounds Policy.

Kennel Representative Mr C.Taylor requested the removal of an early race endorsement for Hooded Monkey. The Stewards approved the request after an examination prior to racing by the on–track veterinarian and was passed fit to race.

Kintsugi was quick to begin. In The Orange and Magic Eyeliner were slow to begin.

Bang On Blue (turned it's head inward and visibly eased approaching the winning post), underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the left hind toe. A 3 day stand down period was imposed. 

Stewards spoke to Representative Mr. Joshua Formosa regarding Bang On Blue’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Bang On Blue was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Formosa pleaded guilty to the charge, Bang On Blue was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

A post–race sample was taken from Kintsugi –  the winner of the event. 

Lakeview Jet  – Late scratching at 7:59am due to weight variation (GAR 101). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer, Mr P.Hammerstein was fined $100.

Windy Biscuit and Sartana were slow to begin.

Global Beauty (visibly eased approaching home turn), underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a abrasion to the left toe. A 3 day stand down period was imposed. 

Stewards spoke to Trainer Mrs J.Torr regarding Global Beauty’s racing manners approaching home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Global Beauty was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mrs Torr pleaded guilty to the charge, Global Beauty was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Leo Giblet – Late scratching at 8:43am due to not being presented in the required kennelling time (GAR 86 and LR 39). Due to the circumstances surrounding the non–presentation, Trainer Mr T.Meyer was fined $250.
