Steward's Report
Wood Carrier – Late scratching at 8:39 am on the 12/8/22 when Ms Donna Dean reported the greyhound to have wrist injury (GAR 76). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w) before any future nominations will be accepted.
A pre–race sample was unable to be obtained from Valencia Ted, a post–race sample was subsequently taken.
Valencia Ted and Dr. Rodrigo were quick to begin.
Bomber's Kiss faltered soon after the start and lost ground, then underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the left foreleg and a right pencil injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Geoffrey Green regarding the performance of Bomber's Kiss. After hearing evidence from Mr Green, viewing the available race footage and acting on their observations, Stewards took no further action.
Valencia Tedunderwent a post–race veterinary examination at the trainer’s request – no apparent injury was reported.
Following the running of this event, Stewards inspected the track soon after box rise and deemed it satisfactory for racing.
