Steward's Report
Manbo Man and Swansea Sands were slow to begin and collided soon after the start. Just Ducal checked off Newfire Rosie on the first turn and raced wide as a result severely checking Vapourette. Swansea Sands eased approaching the second turn.
Just Ducal was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. L. Hughes, the trainer of the greyhound Swansea Sands. Swansea Sands was vetted and re vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right shoulder muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1) the stewards charged Swansea Sands with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury) and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
