Giovanni competes in this race under a Stay of Proceedings issued by the Victorian Racing Tribunal (VRT) late on Friday 19 August 2022 from the GAR 124 (FTP) penalty issued by Stewards to Giovani at Warragul on 18 August 2022.
Why Not Barney – Late scratching at 12.57pm due to weight variation (GAR 101). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer, Mr Leigh Carter was fined $100.
A sample was taken from He's A Brute, Berridale Gem, Why Not Barney and Giovani upon arrival at the course.
Pre-race samples were taken from Galloping Star and Nalani Bale.
Berridale Gem underwent a post–race veterinary examination at the request of the trauner and was found to have a left back muscle injury. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.
