Inter Punch and Why Not Emily were slow to begin.

Inter Punch turned its head in the home straight, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have right hamstring muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative, Miss E Franklin regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Inter Punch was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Miss Franklin pled guilty to the charge, Inter Punch was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Giovanni competes in this race under a Stay of Proceedings issued by the Victorian Racing Tribunal (VRT) late on Friday 19 August 2022 from the GAR 124 (FTP) penalty issued by Stewards to Giovani at Warragul on 18 August 2022.

Why Not Barney – Late scratching at 12.57pm due to weight variation (GAR 101). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer, Mr Leigh Carter was fined $100.
