Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Hydro Glide.
Wild Assassin and Eyes Don't Lie were slow to begin.
Hydro Glide (turned his head outwards towards Van Diemen in the home straight), underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re–examined following race 8. Hydro Glide was found to have a left toe injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Kevin Ashton regarding Hydro Glide’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Hydro Glide was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Ashton pled guilty to the charge, Hydro Glide was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
