Steward's Report
Jefferson County was quick to begin. Hamillson was slow to begin.
Hamillson, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left chest and monkey muscle injuries and an abrasion to the left hock. A 21 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. Richard Hill, the trainer of Hamillson regarding the greyhound being boxed in, and racing in a collar. Acting under GAR 156 (f), the Stewards issued a charge to Mr. Hill for actions, which in the opinion of the Stewards were negligent. Mr. Hill pleaded guilty to the charge. After hearing submissions on penalty, a $250 fine was imposed. Mr. Hill made submissions around the performace of Hamillson, and believed that the collar had no effect on the greyhounds performance but further submitted that the injuries sustained to Hamillson would have contributed to his overall run.
Hamillson – Proved difficult to box and received a warning for boxing manners.
