Steward's Report
Mikado Eclipse and Another Dale were slow to begin. Calypso Queen and Old Mate were quick to begin.
Old Mate (faltered on the first turn and lost ground) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left groin injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Kale (visibly eased approaching the home turn) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left and right back muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Ms. Jennifer Gill regarding Kale’s racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124 Kale was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms. Gill pled not guilty to the charge, Kale was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Traralgon and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Old Mate - the winner of the event.
