Steward's Report
Piper Spolly – Late scratching at 1:47pm due to weight variation (GAR 101). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer, Steven Spoljaric was fined $100.
In accordance with GAR 156(w) Mr Jacob Biddell was issued with a warning regarding the non–compliance with the GRV Dress Code.
Omega Hondo was very slow to begin (5 lengths).
I'm Waiting turned its head to the inside soon after the start, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right back muscle injury. A 28 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Jacob Biddell regarding I'm Waiting’s racing manners soon after the start. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, I'm Waiting was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Biddell pled guilty to the charge, I'm Waiting was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Pinned Hearts crossed out on the home turn, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hamstring injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms Nicole Lund regarding the racing manners of Pinned Hearts on the home turn. After hearing submissions from Ms. Lund, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, the Stewards issued a warning to connections regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn.
