Why Not Opal was quick to begin.
Zealous Alex lost ground approaching the first turn and on the first turn, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have no apparent injury. Stewards spoke to trainer Ms. Terri-Maree Morris regarding Zealous Alex's performance and racing manners. Ms. Morris declined the option to have the greyhound re–vetted. After hearing submissions from Ms. Morris, viewing the available race footage, and acting on their observations, Stewards deemed the performance of Zealous Alex unsatisfactory. Zealous Alex must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 129, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
