Not My Johnny was slow to begin. Navara, Takabees Fantasy, Wheels and Abit Late collided soon after the start. Heza Whirlwhind and Boston George collided soon after the start. Navara and Wheels collided approaching the first turn checking Navara. Wheels, Shannon Capricio, Not My Johnny and Boston George collided on the first turn checking Shannon Capricio and Not My Johnny. Heza Whirlwind and Boston George collided approaching the home turn. Not My Johnny checked off Wheels on the home turn. Navara checked off Not My Johnny entering the home straight. Abit Late marred the running of Takabees Fantasy approaching the winning post.
Abit Late was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Acting under GAR 69(1)(a) stewards charged Abit Late with marring and suspended the greyhound for 28 days at Geelong and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
