A pre-race sample was taken from Cee Ronaldo, the winner of the event.
Connemara Flame and Junior Sanchez were slow to begin. Monica's Hot and Tami Bale collided soon after the start checking Monica's Hot. Penny Allen checked off Slick Jetta on the first turn. Connemara Flame and Junior Sanchez collided on the first turn checking Junior Sanchez. Slick Jetta crossed to the outside entering the home straight checking Penny Allen which raced wide as a result. Connemara Flame raced wide in the home straight.
Stewards issued a warning to Mrs. M. Malia-Magri regarding her failure to arrive at the kennels to retrieve Monica's Hot by the appointed time.
