A pre-race sample was taken from Smart Pedro.
Damika was slow to begin. Blue Chief and Gypsy Rama collided soon after the start. Smart Pedro was checked off Kid Kiddo on the first turn checking Gypsy Rama and severely checking Damika, Junior Sanchez and Smart Pedro; Damika, Junior Sanchez and Smart Pedro stumbled and lost considerable ground as a result. Blue Chief clipped the heels of Power Elect approaching the home turn.
Smart Pedro was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injured right hind sesamoids, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Damika was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no injury apparent.
Junior Sanchez was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right monkey muscle, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
