Vintner was slow to begin. Where's Anton, Woodland Jack and Miss Spice collided soon after the start checking Where's Anton and Woodland Jack. Kouta Reg and Claretown Milo collided soon after the start checking Claretown Milo. Woodland Jack and Kouta Reg collided approaching the first turn checking Kouta Reg. Miss Spice, Baffle Plate and Absolute Leeder collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn checking Miss Spice and Baffle Plate. Woodland Jack crossed to the outside on the first turn checking Kouta Reg and Claretown Milo. Kouta Reg checked off Woodland Jack approaching the home turn.
