Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Kraken Rita.
Deltora Quest was slow to begin.
Affair Beauty, My Believer and My Name's Lindy collided soon after the start checking Affair Beauty and My Name's Lindy. Affair Fantasy and My Name's Judy collided approaching the first turn. Kraken Rita turned its head outwards and visibly eased on the first turn checking Kraken Rita, Inside Out and My Believer. My Name's Judy and My Believer collided approaching the home turn. Affair Fantasy and My Believer collided in the home straight. Kraken Rita turned its head inwards and marred My Believer in the home straight and again approaching the winning post checking Affair Fantasy, Kraken Rita and My Believer.
Kraken Rita underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the right triceps. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Kevin Eyles, the trainer of Kraken Rita regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Kraken Rita was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Eyles pleaded guilty to the charge, Kraken Rita was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
