Fat Cracker was quick to begin.  Lagoona Bale was slow to begin.  Lagoona Bale crossed in soon after the start checking Brandeen Jerry.  Ozzie Dan and Urana Wendy collided approaching the first turn.  Chanel Miss and Lagoona Bale collided on the first turn checking Ozzie Dan.  Lagoona Bale clipped the heels of Chanel Miss in the home straight.

Lagoona Bale underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured right wrist.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Fully Fledged and Grant’s Treasure were slow to begin.  Misdemeanor and Defined Benefit collided soon after the start.  Dr. Kye and Falsely Accused collided approaching the first turn checking Falsely Accused.  Jovi Bale veered out and marred Grant’s Treasure on the first turn severely checking Defined Benefit. Jovi  Bale marred Grant’s Treasure until the winning post causing both greyhounds to tail off.

Stewards spoke to Mr. L. Harris, the trainer of Jovi Bale regarding the greyhound’s racing manners from the first turn to the winning post.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Jovi Bale was charged with marring.  Mr. Harris pleaded guilty to the charge, Jovi Bale was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Grant’s Treasure underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was reported.

MEETING COMMENTS:

The closing time of kennelling was delayed by approximately 10 minutes, due to the late arrival of Mr Greg Doyle who experienced traffic delays on–route to the track. Mr Doyle was issued with a warning. 

Stewards conducted a check of all participants licences at kennelling in accordance with LRR 16.2. 

Stewards conducted a check of catcher’s licences in accordance with LRR 16.2 and all were compliant.

Mr Michael Delaney was issued with a warning pursuant to GAR86(0), in that he presented Somerton Rose to the Stewards for scanning with the incorrect race rug placed on the greyhound.
