Any Luck, Inga Ollie and Crazy Old Duck were quick to begin. Electric Zulu and Tsar Bell were slow to begin.
Milwaukee Miss and Barefoot Barry collided approaching the first turn. Any Luck and Inga Ollie collided on the first turn. Milwaukee Miss, Barefoot Barry and Tsar Bell collided approaching the home turn; checking Barefoot Barry and Tsar Bell, causing both greyhounds to race wide; Tsar Bell stumbled as a result. Any Luck, Inga Ollie and Milwaukee Miss collided approaching the home turn. Electric Zulu checked off Milwaukee Miss on the home turn. Electric Zulu marred Barefoot Barry on the home turn.

Mr David Gehan, the trainer of Electric Zulu, who declined a veterinary examination and an inquiry, pleaded guilty to a charge of marring under the provisions of GAR 69(1). Electric Zulu was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Horsham and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
