Why Arandt was quick to begin. King Crow was slow to begin.
Why Arandt and Buzz Out collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn, checking Mt. View Nancy. Mt. View Nancy checked off Pat May Joy approaching the home turn. Buzz Out checked off Weblec Opal approaching the home turn. Why Arandt and Buzz Out collided approaching the home turn, checking Why Arandt. Why Arandt visably eased in the home straight and turned its head out towards Buzz Out.
Why Arandt underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound above the left elbow and a right hindleg whip injury; a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr David Gehan regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B(1), Why Arandt was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Gehan pleaded guilty to the charge, Why Arandt was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B(1) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
