Essential persons (both staff & participants) attending today, provided satisfactory evidence of vaccination or exemption under the State Government’s mandatory vaccination (workers) directions, undertook successful health screenings, wore facemasks, observed social distance requirements, and adhered to room density quotients that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Half Pint was quick to begin.

Malafon and Tinker Yvonne collided soon after the start. Another Brother and Kanji Olympic collided approaching the first turn, checking Another Brother. Malafon and Kanji Olympic collided on the first turn, checking both greyhounds. Half Pint and Denis The Menace collided on the first turn, checking Half Pint and Al's Shout. Denis The Menace visibly eased on the first turn. Tinker Yvonne checked off Denis The Menace on the home turn, checking Half Pint. Al's Shout checked off Half Pint in the home straight. Denis The Menace turned its head outwards and visibly eased approaching the winning post. 

Denis The Menace underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right wrist sprain, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to Mr Darren Petersen, trainer regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn and again approaching the winning post.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Denis The Menace was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. D Petersen pleaded guilty to the charge, Denis The Menace was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial  in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

An out of competition sample was taken from Big John on 21/10/2021 pursuant to GAR 79A.

Spring Empire was quick to begin. Slippery Swan was slow to begin.

Spring Empire and Rare Sapphire collided soon after the start. Slingshot Bruno checked off Tinker Crest soon after the start. Big John and Spring Empire collided approaching the first turn. Rare Sapphire, Slingshot Bruno and Slippery Swan collided approaching the first turn. Rare Sapphire checked off Big John on the first turn. Big John and Tinker Crest collided approaching the home turn, severely checking Big John. Tinker Crest checked off Big John on the home turn. Rare Sapphire and Slippery Swan collided entering the home straight. Slingshot Bruno checked off Rare Sapphire in the home straight. Slingshot Bruno and Slippery Swan collided approaching the winning post. 

Zippy Yamaha was quick to begin.

Indy Korie and Chasing Moet collided soon after the start, checking Chasing Moet. Zippy Yamaha and Kanji Kilo collided approaching the first turn, checking both greyhounds. Indy Korie underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a sand toe right hind leg. No stand down period was imposed.

Stewards issued a warning to Ms. Donna Knight, representing Ms. A Dailly, for arriving late to the kennels to prepare Kanji Kilo for racing in this event pursuant to GAR 46.

Habits To Burn, Slingshot Mia and Mepunga Stellar collided on the first turn, checking Sailor's Girl, Slingshot Mia and Mepunga Stellar.

Whiskey Road, Trickity Click and Col Cowboy collided on the first turn, checking Whiskey Road and Oliver Bale. Whiskey Road, Irene's A Star and Little Yaala collided on the home turn, checking Irene's A Star and Little Yaala. Trickity Click raced wide on the home turn. Sinful Angel turned it's head outwards marring Trickity Click on the home turn.

Sinful Angel underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have abrasions and cramping.  A 3 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to Mr.David Burnett, the trainer of Sinful Angel regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Sinful Angel was charged with marring. Mr. D Burnett pleaded guilty to the charge, Sinful Angel was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
