Essential persons (both staff & participants) attending today, provided satisfactory evidence of vaccination or exemption under the State Government’s mandatory vaccination (workers) directions, undertook successful health screenings, wore facemasks, observed social distance requirements, and adhered to room density quotients that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Half Pint was quick to begin.

Malafon and Tinker Yvonne collided soon after the start. Another Brother and Kanji Olympic collided approaching the first turn, checking Another Brother. Malafon and Kanji Olympic collided on the first turn, checking both greyhounds. Half Pint and Denis The Menace collided on the first turn, checking Half Pint and Al's Shout. Denis The Menace visibly eased on the first turn. Tinker Yvonne checked off Denis The Menace on the home turn, checking Half Pint. Al's Shout checked off Half Pint in the home straight. Denis The Menace turned its head outwards and visibly eased approaching the winning post. 

Denis The Menace underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right wrist sprain, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to Mr Darren Petersen, trainer regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn and again approaching the winning post.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Denis The Menace was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. D Petersen pleaded guilty to the charge, Denis The Menace was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial  in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
