Essential persons (both staff & participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings, wore face-masks, observed social distance requirements and adhered to room density quotients that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Indigo – Late scratching at 2.08pm when Trainer Ms. T. Sincock reported the greyhound to have diarrhoea (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20(3)(v) before any future nomination will be accepted. 

A pre-race sample was taken from Urunga Bale.

Reiko Flash and Madam Evie were quick to begin. Conroy was slow to begin.

Urunga Bale and Okara Bale collided soon after the start. High Card Riot and Madam Evie raced wide in the home straight.

Slingshot Mia and Delta Storm were quick to begin. Turtle Fernando was slow to begin.

Easy Street began awkwardly and lost ground. Browning Bale and George's Fancy collided soon after the start. Slingshot Mia checked off Delta Storm on the first turn. George's Fancy, Browning Bale and Turtle Fernando collided on the first turn checking George's Fancy and Browning Bale. Delta Storm, George's Fancy and Easy Street raced wide on the home turn.

Ephemeral, Kingsville Flyer and Gladki were quick to begin. Cheery Ola Baby and Naomi Butterfly were slow to begin. Moo Star and Rattling Rosie collided soon after the start severely checking Rattling Rosie. Moo Star checked off Kingsville Flyer approaching the first turn. Aston Velvet checked off Kingsville Flyer approaching the first turn. Ephemeral checked off Gladki approaching the winning post.

Rattling Rosie underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was found.

Heidi's Gift was quick to begin. Craftsman was slow to begin.

Orejitas, Craftsman, Barnsy and Nicky Mustang collided soon after the start checking Barnsy, Craftsman and Nicky Mustang. Tiggerlong Gas and Heidi's Gift collided in the back straight checking Heidi's Gift. Heidi's Gift and Barnsy collided on the first turn checking Heidi's Gift, Barnsy and Craftsman. Atomic Cabang checked off Orejitas on the first turn. Tiggerlong Gas galloped on Courteous Reiko approaching the home turn checking Courteous Reiko. Atomic Cabang and Orejitas collided approaching the winning post.

Atomic Cabang underwent a post-race veterinary examination, at the trainer's request, and was found to have a laceration to the left side of the face. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

This event was rescheduled to start at 8.12pm.

Cawbourne Coco, Ernie Prang and Big Gordy were slow to begin.

Uforo Bale began awkwardly and lost ground (4L).

Waldemar Bale, Weblec Flare and Bolt Out collided soon after the start. Waldemar Bale and Weblec Flare collided in the back straight. Weblec Flare and Aussie Built collided approaching the first turn. Waldemar Bale checked off Bolt Out on the first turn.

Inka Bale was quick to begin. Weblec Scout was slow to begin.

Call Me Buster and Russian Sub collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds. Happy Ruby and Call Me Buster collided soon after the start. Inka Bale, Call Me Buster and Russian Sub collided on the first turn. Mahomes and Weblec Scout collided on the first turn checking Weblec Scout. Call Me Buster and Russian Sub collided approaching the second turn. Call Me Buster galloped on Inka Bale entering the back straight checking both greyhounds. Caroline checked off Happy Ruby on the third turn. Inka Bake checked off Russian Sub on the third turn. Mahomes galloped on Call Me Buster on the third turn checking Mahomes, Romeo Bale and Weblec Scout.

Mahomes underwent a post-race veterinary examination, at the trainer's request, and was found to have a torn webbing on the left fore paw. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Valeska Bale was slow to begin.

Merlot and Sweet Petit collided soon after the start. Sweet Petit, Well Grounded and Denise's Vision collided soon after the start checking Well Grounded and Sweet Petit. Mepunga Grace and Merlot collided approaching the first turn checking Merlot. Valeska Bale and Merlot collided on the first turn checking Merlot. Mepunga Grace checked off Denise's Vision on the first turn checking Cornish Pixie. Sweet Petit checked off Cornish Pixie on the first turn and collided with Well Grounded.

Val Ali was quick to begin. Orson Mick, Ripper Reiko, Zigzag Cabang and Bakali George were slow to begin. Siala Giblet checked off Moon Over Mexico approaching the first turn. Val Ali checked off Moon Over Mexico approaching the first turn. Orson Mick, Ripper Reiko, Siala Giblet and Bakali George collided on the first turn checking Bakali George and Zigzag Cabang. Val Ali and Violet Rose collided on the first turn checking Val Ali. Orson Mick galloped on Val Ali on the first turn causing Val Ali to fall and severely checking Orson Mick and Ripper Reiko.

Val Ali underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was found. 

Ripper Reiko underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left dew claw injury and a right hind toe injury. No stand down period was imposed.

White Flower and Wioleta Bale collided soon after the start. White Flower checked off Bean's Multi approaching the first turn.

A post-race sample was taken from Cruisy's Special - winner of the event.

Zipping Petra was slow to begin.

Bubba Jo, Gunai Outlaw, Missy's Hand and Crown Ella collided soon after the start checking Gunai Outlaw and Missy's Hand.

Gunai Outlaw and Missy's Hand collided on the first turn checking Gunai Outlaw.

Crown Ella raced wide on the home turn.

Gunai Outlaw underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was found. Stewards spoke to Mr. John Barbara, Kennel Representative, regarding the performance of Gunai Outlaw. Mr. Barbara advised Stewards that the greyhound had only recently arrived in their kennel, had been trialling well and that he had expected a better performance today. After viewing all the available race footage, hearing evidence from Mr. Barbara regarding interference suffered by the greyhound during the run, and the fact that the greyhound had not raced for an extended period of time, Stewards decided to take no further action but advised that they would monitor the greyhound at future starts.

Riverdale Bonnie and Scott Hue were slow to begin.

Aunt Finnie, Aston Genesis, Go Wheels, Quarantined and Especial Envy collided approaching the first turn checking Quarantined.

Aunt Finnie, Aston Genesis, Go Wheels and Especial Envy collided on the first turn checking Aunt Finnie, Aston Genesis, Riverdale Bonnie and Quarantined and severely checking Especial Envy and Go Wheels.

Go Wheels underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was found.

Supplementary Report - Following the meeting held at Geelong on 10 September, 2021, an autopsy was conducted on the greyhound Maniac Martini which was pronounced deceased by the On-Track Veterinarian following the running of Race 2. The likely cause of death was acute cardiac failure.
