A pre-race sample was taken from Mini Higgins.
Zipping Gomez was slow to begin.
Mt. View Burner and Barbarian collided on the first turn. Angry Eyes crossed out on the home turn and checked off Mt. View Ivy, checking Mt. View Ivy; severely checking Angry Eyes, Mt. View Burner and Barbarian, Barbarian fell as a result. Mini Higgins marred Angry Eyes on the home turn. Mini Higgins, Angry Eyes and Mt. View Burner collided entering the home straight, causing all three greyhounds to race wide. Mini Higgins checked off Angry Eyes in the home straight.
Barbarian underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left triangle injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Mini Higgins underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right thigh injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Ms Loren Dalziel, the Representative of Mini Higgins regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Mini Higgins was charged with marring. Ms Dalziel pleaded guilty to the charge, Mini Higgins was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
