Steward's Report
Kennel representative, Mr. D. Seffries, redeclared a new weight for Ardekay of 32.7kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR39(2). Ardekay last raced at 31.3kgs.
Compact Kiwi and Redding were slow to begin.
Phebu and Ardekay collided soon after the start checking Phebu which collided with Compact Kiwi. Miss Woorndoo, Sundaram, Marlow Flight and Ardekay collided approaching the first turn checking Ardekay, Marlow Flight and Sundaram. Ardekay and Marlow Flight collided in the back straight. Sundaram, Tucky's Runner, Miss Woorndoo and Compact Kiwi collided approaching the second turn checking Ardekay and severely checking Tucky's Runner and causing Miss Woorndoo to fall. Sundaram checked off Compact Kiwi approaching the home turn. Phebu checked off Sundaram entering the home straight. Redding, Phebu and Marlow Flight raced wide in the home straight.
Tucky's Runner which tailed off was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury.
Miss Woorndoo was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right shoulder and abrasions to the left knee. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
