Mr. R. Ellis, trainer of Crash Nikita redeclared a new weight of 32.8kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR39(2). Crash Nikita last raced at 34.1kgs.
Crash Nikita and Sultan Of Swing were slow to begin.
Sandy Point and Atlas Surprise collided soon after the start. Sultan Of Swing, Atlas Surprise and Spectrum collided approaching the first turn checking Atlas Surprise and Spectrum. Mind Bender and Forheza collided on the first turn severely checking Mind Bender which collided with Sultan Of Swing, Mind Bender lost considerable ground as a result. Mind Bender and Atlas Surprise collided approaching the home turn. Atlas Surprise checked off Crash Nikita on the home turn. Sandy Point and Forheza collided entering the home straight.
Mind Bender was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right shoulder and abrasions to the left hind foot. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
