Steward's Report
Due to the abandonment of Sale thoroughbreds, this Event was rescheduled to start at 3.30pm from the original advertised starting time.
Target Master - Late scratching at 1.15pm with Stewards permission due to a road deviations on the Monash Freeway. No stand down period was imposed.
Harley Ryder and Daintree Lad were slow to begin.
Family Trust and Harley Ryder collided on the first turn. Mr. Deeds and Daintree Lad collided on the first turn. Audenzia visibly eased and turned its head inwards approaching the winning post checking Mr. Deeds.
Audenzia underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left monkey muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr J Gorioski, the trainer of Audenzia regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Audenzia was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Gorioski pleaded guilty to the charge, Audenzia was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Audenzia - the winner of the event.
