Steward's Report
Belle Yaraki and Knight's Cross were slow to begin.
Soho Expresso, Ripper Roxy and Lyrical Dad collided soon after the start causing Ripper Roxy to falter, pull up and take no further part. Lyrical Dad turned it's head outwards approaching the first turn. Knight's Cross checked off Inga Assalt entering the home straight. Lyrical Dad turned its head outwards in the home straight.
Soho Expresso underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr Michael Davison regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight. After hearing evidence from Mr. Davison, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, Stewards took no further action.
Ripper Roxy underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a fractured right hock. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.
Lyrical Dad underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have both left and right triangle and hip injuries. A 21 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Jack Campbell, the kennel representative of Lyrical Dad regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the first turn and again in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Lyrical Dad was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Campbell pleaded guilty to the charge, Lyrical Dad was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat only and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 69A(2) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
