Steward's Report
An out of competition sample was taken from Masked Avenger on 21st December 2021 pursuant to GAR 79A.
Trendy Universe, Aston Lamont, Dark Compass and Alfie Alligator collided soon after the start. Aston Lamont brushed the running rail approaching the first turn. Aston Lamont checked off Trendy Universe on the first turn. Dark Compass and Warringah Bale raced wide entering the home straight. Overshadowed turned its head outwards in the home straight and visibly eased.
Overshadowed underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right shin sorness, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to handler, Mr L. Thompson regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Overshadowed was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr L. Thompson pleaded guilty to the charge, Overshadowed was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
