Steward's Report
Arby's Phoebe – Late scratching at 10:01am due to non–arrival (GAR 31). A 28 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr B. Weis informed Stewards that he had a vehicle breakdown on–route to the track. Stewards advised Mr. Weis that evidence of the breakdown will need to be submitted, to the satisfaction of Stewards, within 48 hours of the occurrence that caused the non–arrival. The matter will be re–evaluated upon receipt of this evidence.
Stewards discussed the frequency of racing for Line Stepper with trainer Jason Hardy and noted his comments.
Rowchester Sugar and Ferocious Pedro collided soon after the start. Line Stepper and Al's Draw Four collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn. Rowchester Sugar and Line Stepper collided on the first turn. Al's Draw Four and Yussuf Bale collided on the first turn. Yussuf Bale and Rowchester Sugar collided on the home turn severely checking Rowchester Sugar. Destroy We Said and Mepunga Hayles collided in the home straight.
Rowchester Sugar underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
A post-race sample was taken from Line Stepper - the winner of the event.
