Arby's Chloe  – Late scratching at 9:58am due to non–arrival (GAR 31).  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer Mr B. Weis informed Stewards that he had a vehicle breakdown on–route to the track.  Stewards advised Mr. Weis that evidence of the breakdown will need to be submitted, to the satisfaction of Stewards, within 48 hours of the occurrence that caused the non–arrival.  The matter will be re–evaluated upon receipt of this evidence. 

The Stewards discussed the frequency of racing of Flying Torpedo with Trainer Mr J.Hardy and noted his comments.

A pre-race sample was taken from La Spezia.

La Spezia, Blackpool Homer, Joffa's Monaro, Aviana Bale and Flying Torpedo collided soon after the start. La Spezia and Flying Torpedo collided approaching the first turn. Blackpool Homer checked off Up There Red on the first turn. La Spezia raced wide on the first turn and visibly eased, checking Flying Torpedo. Up There Red and La Spezia collided approaching the home turn.

Up There Red underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.

La Spezia underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left triangle muscle injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Representative, Mr Robert Walsh, regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), La Spezia was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Walsh pleaded guilty to the charge, La Spezia was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Flying Torpedo underwent a post-race veterinary examination  - no apparent injury was reported.
