Deeming Rate was quick to begin. Dimora Jet was slow to begin and crossed to the rail soon after the start. Bank Heist, Blazing Joe, Blackjack Tiger and Aston Serpens collided soon after the start. Mt. Elgin Lass checked off Bank Heist approaching the first turn. Bank Heist, Blazing Joe, Blackjack Tiger and Aston Serpens collided on the first turn checking Blazing Joe, Blackjack Tiger and Aston Serpens, causing Dimora Jet to check off Blazing Joe severely checking Blazing Joe which fell, in turn checking Dimora Jet, Blackjack Tiger and Mt. Elgin Lass. Mt. Elgin Lass and Blackjack Tiger collided entering the home straight. Deeming Rate and Bank Heist collided approaching the winning post.
Bank Heist underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the left monkey muscle. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Ricky Coleman, the trainer of Bank Heist regarding its performance approaching the winning post. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Bank Heist must perform a Satisfactory Trial pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
